BIOGRAPHY
Yuichi started his triathlete career at an early age influenced by his sister. In 1998 he moved to Australia and trained with Australian team mates under their coach Col Stewart. On his return to Japan in 2003 he was scouted by Triathlon coach Hideaki Yamane to become a member of Inage International Triathlon Team. Since then he settled at his training base in Chiba, Japan and gone on to compete in national and international triathlon events. Yuichi won the Asian Junior Championships for three straight years from 2002 to 2004. He performs very well in hot and humid conditions especially events held on the Asian continent where he has held championship titles for many years.
In 2012 Yuichi Hosoda made his Olympic Games debut in London, finishing 43th. His first ever international gold medal was at ITU Aquathlon World Championships held in Edmonton, Canada in 2014. In March 2015 he moved to the general Healthcare foundation Hakujikai Triathlon Team.
