BIOGRAPHY

Yurie made a successful transition from Ekiden - running to triathlon. Since her Triathlon debut in 2011, she is developing various aspects of skills and having recorded excellent results during 2015 and 2016 seasons. With that results, she met the selection criteria for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and got her first-ever Olympic ticket in 2016. Yurie is aiming to finish at 8th in Rio.
In 2014 she won double titles at National Duathlon Championships and Phuket Asian Beach Games - Duathlon, and has won Triathlon Asian Cups three times.
She was born and raised in Chiba, went to Josai International University, and now also based in Chiba, training with Ai Ueda. It is her 5th season coached by Hideki Yamane.
