JPN Nominations, 2012 ITU Congress, Auckaland, New Zealand
Date: 14 August 2012
Personal Achievements and Goals
As for my personal achievements, I have been coaching several many top ranked athletes including Olympians such as Ai Ueda. In the Japan Triathlon Union, I have been chairing the high performance committee more than 10 years.
As a nominee of ITU Coaches Committee I propose the following four goals.
- To improve the performance of athletes from Asian countries.
In order for the further success of ITU, it is crucial to bottom-up the public awareness of triathlon and the number of high performance athletes in Asian countries.
Therefore, I contribute to improve the competitiveness of triathlon in the region by cooperating with other partner countries in ASTC (Asian Triathlon Confederation).
- To increase the number of countries participating in the future Olympic games from Asian region. In the past four Olympic games, NOC from the Asian region is the following.
Sydney/ 3 NOCs (Japan, China, Kazakhstan)
Athens/ 4NOCs (Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong China)
Beijing/ 3NOCs (Japan, China, Hong Kong China)
London/ 3NOCs(Japan, China, Korea)
Therefore, in order to increase NOC from this region to the Rio de Janeiro Olympic games 2016, I cooperate with coaches in other countries by sharing information and contribute to improve the performance of athletes from the Asian region.
- To promote the public relation of triathlon to be seen as an exciting sport.
I emphasize on promoting a mix relay race. In addition, I contribute to adopt new regulation, course setting, and PRIME by collaborating with technical committee members to make triathlon the more exciting sport.
- To emphasize on anti-doping act
Anti-doping act is doubtlessly essential in order for the further development of triathlon. I emphasize on the educational campaign to go against the usage of illegal performance enhancement procedures.
