Personal Achievements and Goals
International Triathlon Union (ITU) Executive Board Member Candidacy

 

I, Shinichiro Otsuka, would like to stand for Executive Board Member of International Triathlon Union with the endorsement of the Japan Triathlon Union (JTU).

Our sport of Triathlon made a great success at the 30th Olympiad, 2012 London Olympic Games. This success is absolutely attributed to the enormous efforts put together by all of the athletes, officials, and participating member federations under the leadership of President Marisol Casado, in addition to the history of ITU since its foundation in 1989. I feel very happy and privileged that I have been part of this development since 1989.

In order to sustain this sport's leap into another phase that we witnessed at our fourth Olympics, the Executive Board of ITU must act even more carefully as well as positively than ever.

In order to achieve the strategies of ITU, I will carry out the mission of the EBoard member

 

as well as the following work:

- I will contribute to the Olympic Movement as an Executive Board member of Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) and do my utmost for the promotion of Triathlon in the Olympic sports.

- I will further promote this sport in many other Asian countries and regions in good cooperation with ASTC.

- I will further develop the business for ITU by organizing many ITU events in Japan:
　1) Yokohama WTS
　2) Ishigaki WC
　3) Tateyama WC (being planned)
　4) Amakusa AC
　5) Osaka AC
　6) Gamagori AC

- I will send our national team to various ITU events and World Championships.

- I will perform PR activities against prospective Japanese sponsors to solicit their interest in our sport not only in Japan but Asia and the world.

- I will be further involved in media relations, mainly with TV..

- I will utilize the web site to promote our activities even further.

- I will conduct analysis of triathlon business to present outcomes at conferences on sport management/tourism in Japan and abroad.

 

I pledge to devote myself to the future of triathlon for another four years.
