BIOGRAPHY
Juri was a member of the Tamagawa University track and field team and competed in the All Japan University Women's Ekiden as the selected member. After her successful running career at University she started competing in triathlon in 2006. She claimed a top five finish at her first Olympic Games in Beijing and that remains the highest ranking of a Japanese triathlete in history. Juri then won the first race of the 2009 season on her home turf in Japan at the Ishigaki World Cup. Only one week after the win in Ishigaki, Ide kicked off her World Championship Series campaign with a third-place showing in Tongyeong where she finished just behind the Australian duo of Snowsill and Moffatt. She again finished on the podium at the ITU World Championship Series in Yokohama in front of the 320,000 excited spectators at another home country event. She was the gold medalist of 2010 Asian Beach Games and was national champion in 2008, 2009 and 2011. Ide finished 34th at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
