Biography

Born in Perth, Western Australia in 1993, to an Australian father and a Japanese mother.
Kenji Nener was involved in many sports from childhood, including soccer and tennis, and discovered triathlon at the age of 13. He has been racing as an athlete of the Japan Triathlon Union since December 2018, and has competed in World Cup and World Triathlon Series as a JTU Certified Athlete. He made his first appearance and won his first race at the 2020 Japan Triathlon Championships.
He became a Japanese citizen on April 1, 2021.
*From March 2018 to December 2018 was a transition period for national registration and he participated in races under the ITU flag.
